Easyjet Pilot

Easyjet is one of Europe's biggest airlines with an ultra modern fleet and a vast European Route Network which provides its pilots with one of the most challenging and diverse commercial aviation careers on offer.

Easyjet

Every year there are significant employment opportunities at Easyjet as they recruit and train more than 200 new pilots a year aimed at supporting their average 7-10% annual growth rate.

Easyjet is also open to employing Cadet Pilots usually from one of its partner training organisations such as CTC Wings. In fact approximately 20-30 Cadet Pilots make up the 200+ annual recruits into the airline.

Latest Recruitment News

Easyjet have currently fulfilled their pilot recruitment needs for 2010 and will not be recruiting again until 2011.

Despite the airlines relatively large pilot recruitment programme it is still very competitive and potential recruits will need to show that they are up their with the best. One reason Easyjet's pilot recruitment programme is so competitive is because Easyjet is a popular airline to be a part of.

Easyjet offer a 5 on 2 off 5 on and 4 days off roster system which was designed to minimize pilot fatigue. Such a roster system ensures that its pilots maintain the perfect work life balance with a 4 day break in every 16 days.

Easyjet is the perfect airline for accumulating a large number of sectors. This is due to its short-haul nature with an average sector at 500NM. A pilot can expect to fly between 2 and 6 sectors a day and accumulate up to 500 sectors a year. Great for building valuable sector experience especially for those pilots who wish to use Easyjet as a stepping stone to a long-haul career.

Easyjet

Easyjet operates a ultra modern fleet of short-range aircraft which is made up of the Airbus families A319 and A320 aircraft. These aircraft provide the pilot with excellent experience with modern avionics and can provide the bed rock for moving onto larger Airbus aircraft such as the A330, A340 and A380 operated by other airlines.

For flexibility and destination variety Easyjet is certainly one of the best European operating airlines to work for. This is based on their vast European Route Network and large number of operating bases. This provides crews with the opportunities to work from different airports as well as to land at a vast number of different European Airports.

When it comes to pilot training then Easyjet is definitely not low-cost. As an Easyjet pilot you can expect to be trained to a very high standard which also means you will need to posses quality as a pilot. In fact Easyjet is well respected in the industry for their training standards.

Overall Easyjet is an excellent airline for young energetic pilots who wish to rapidly build up a large number of high quality and demanding hours. Modern jets, short sectors, busy European airspace and short turn around times means Easyjet will provide top notch experience but be prepared to work hard.

I am startring flying lessons in January on my 28th birthday. I have flown previously whilst in the cadets and have always wanted to take on lessons and I am finally getting round to doing it. I have been told that easyjet sponsor you through your lessons and training with a job at the end, is this true? I am a qualified Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer but would love to follow my childhood dream into the piloting career. I look forward to your response and information, Regards, Chris Seavor
