Gliding Gold Badge

The Gold Badge is similar to the Silver Badge except that its milestones are higher. Like Silver it is internationally recognised and is issued by the FAI.

To achieve the Gold Badge one must complete a height gain of 3000 metres, a 300 KM flight and a duration flight of 5 plus hours.

The prerequisites include the Bronze Badge and the Cross Country Endorsement, one may attempt the Gold Badge without holding a Silver Badge. Although the distance requirements for Gold and Silver are the same, so a distance flight intended for the Silver Badge can be used for the Gold Badge instead.

The Gold Badge is an international qualification and can be used for gliding in other countries as well as entering competitions.
